Photographers of the West: The Snell and Wilmer Photography Collection

Nolan Preece, page 79, "The Eureka Opera House, Eureka, NV" (See web.mac.com/nolanpreece "The Nevada Millennium Platinum Series" page 3.) A new book/catalog recently released by Snell and Wilmer. The book is dedicated to the late Edward "Bud" Jacobson who for fifty-five years worked with the law firm Snell and Wilmer to bring together one of the most outstanding photography collections in the west. The dedication to Bud Jacobson is by John J. Bouma. A tribute titled "Edward "Bud" Jacobson: Collector and Connoisseur" is written by James Ballinger, Director of the Phoenix Art Museum. A short description of western photography "Encountering Western Photography: A Core Sample" is written by Douglas R. Nickel, Center for Creative Photography and "Building the Collection" by Terry Etherton of the Etherton Gallery. The book covers 73 photographers including Richard Misrach, Mark Klett, Todd Walker, Linda Connor, Joan Myers and Eliot Porter.
